Exactly one year ago, on October 18, 2014, I ran the Amsterdam Marathon, which ended in slight disappointment, as I did not reach my goal of finishing within three-and-a-half hours. After settling down in Australia, I picked up running regularly again, and apart from getting into better shape, I also felt it was time for another race. As preparing for a marathon requires a lot of time, I decided to stick to the Half Marathon this time.
The latest stop in our never-ending journey to find the perfect wine was Yarra Valley, situated one hour east of Melbourne. After our weekend trip to the Great Ocean Road, we decided to visit Yarra Valley on the following Monday to see what it’s all about.
Back in May, barely a month after ending our seven-month trip around the world, we already felt the urge to get moving again. We opted to rent a car for the weekend, and head to Torquay, the beginning of Australia’s Great Ocean Road.
Due to our unexpected visit to Fiji, our stay in Sydney was limited to two days only. But, since we arrived well rested from our business class flight, we decided to go explore right away.
In April 2015, we visited five countries: Colombia, United States, Canada, Fiji, and Australia. Two weeks ago we summarized Colombia, and now it is time for the remainder of the month. After Colombia, we visited the Pacific Northwest, before spending an unexpected day in Fiji. We settled down in Melbourne, but not after we briefly visited Sydney.
We, Mark & Herta, are currently backpacking through Europe, and eventually planning to settle in London. Beyond that? The possibilities are endless.
